Two more Bangor area businesses, City Side Restaurant in Brewer and Orono Trampoline Park in Orono, have announced that they will be closing.

City Side Restaurant in Brewer has announced that it has closed.

Signs on the doors on Monday entering the restaurant stated the closing of the business:

July 27th, 2020

To all our loyal customers and friends,

After 14 years we regretfully have decided to close our doors.  Business has not been enough to sustain expenses since reopening.  We want to thank you for your friendship and trust over the years.  We wish you well and hope to see you around town.

Be Safe

Social media lit up with pictures of the sign on Monday morning and even with a little controversy due to communications between the staff and the owners of it's closing.

The restaurant was a part of City Center Plaza, formerly the North Brewer Shopping Center located on main street in North Brewer which currently consists of Paradis Shop N' Save, Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant and Brewer Redemption Center.

This announcement was made within 24 hours of another local business, the Orono Trampoline Park announcing it's closure on Sunday on Facebook.

The post from The Orono Trampoline Park stated it would be closed until further notice:

Hello Facebook friends,
We are so appreciative for everyone who came out to support us since we had reopened. Unfortunately due to how slow we have been and the expenses that are involved with keeping the park open we have made the difficult decision to close the facility until further notice, effective 7/27/20. Anyone who had purchase tickets for a future date will be refunded. We plan on reopening at a better time where people will feel more comfortable coming in and giving us business. Thank you again for your support. We can’t wait to see you again soon.

These closings have followed a pattern of several businesses closing their doors, temporarily or for good, since the pandemic hit the United States and stay-at-home orders were put into effect here in the State of Maine and across the country.

These two businesses join other Bangor area businesses who have shut down in recent months including Nicky's Crusin' Diner and Jersey Subs in Downtown Bangor.
