Two of the world's best known "Gingers" came together recently to use humor as a way to start the conversation about mental health. Rock Royal, Ed Sheeran, arguably one of the hottest artists at the moment in the pop music world, hitched his star-studded saddle to an actual Royal, Prince Henry, who along with his brother, Prince William, has been advocating for the de-stigmatization of the issue of mental health and suicide for many years. The two created a humorous video, in honor of World Mental Health Day, which is celebrated every year on October 10th.

According to the World Health Organization, the focus of this year's World Mental Health Day is suicide prevention. Their website states that "Every 40 seconds, someone loses their life to suicide." They say suicide is the second leading cause of death in people 15 to 29 years old. The organization hopes that by raising awareness of the issue, people who need services and support will be able to get it.

The sentiment of the video Sheeran and Prince Harry created is that no one should suffer alone in silence, and they encourage people to reach out if you see someone in need, or think someone needs to talk.

If you need someone to talk to, or know someone who does, the number to the Maine Crisis Hotline is 1-888-568-1112, and the website to find more resources on suicide prevention is https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/talk-to-someone-now/.
