Welcome back, Bangor State Fair!

Oh, how I miss the days when we had interns. We would get a few college kids in the building for a few months each summer, and make them do the most menial tasks, and they absolutely loved it.

Back in July of 2014, when the Bangor State Fair would do Media Day, ahead of the official kick-off, sometimes we would all get together and get on the rides, and maybe enjoy a doughboy or fries. One year, we grabbed a Go-Pro, and sent our then intern, Sara, on a brand new contraption called "The Fireball Roller Coaster Ride" The video may make you a little dizzy, but it has racked up over 11,000 views over the years.

The Bangor State Fair returns today, and things will be a little different this year. First of all, it is a condensed version, running just 4 days, and with this in mind, the following events will not take place this year:

Demolition Derby
Truck Pulls
Tractor Pulls
Old McDonald Farm
Independent Vendor Midway

The list of rides has been pared down this year as well, but there is still plenty of fun to be had! Here are the ones you can expect:

Giant Wheel
Pharaohs Fury
Arctic Bobs
Zipper
Tilt a Whirl
Tempest
Super Slide
Sky Diver
Raiders
Tornado
Mardi Gras
Train
Kid Power
Kiddie Rockets
Kids Spin Ride
Kids Chair Swing
Merry go Round
