Saturn is at its closest approach to Earth, stargazers have an opportunity to see the planet's rings this week.

Throughout the rest of July, skywatchers can see a cool spacey sight. Saturn's rings are visible through a telescope, as the planet makes its closest orbit to Earth. Clear skies are needed for optimal viewing.

On July 16 and 17, it will be easy to spot Saturn with help from the bright full Thunder Moon. The full moon glowing next to Saturn will brightly illuminate the planet in the night sky.

Use this map to help track Saturn throughout the month.
