The MDA Muscle Walk is coming to Bangor. Support kids and adults in the community with Muscular Dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Maine is marching north to Bangor. MDA will host a Muscle Walk on the Bangor Waterfront September 16.

Registration is now open. To register visit MDA.org.

MDA Muscle Walks are held around the state and the country. The walks are a huge fundraiser for the non-profit organization. Fire departments around the country, including Bangor, also support the organization with the 'Fill the Boot' campaign. The Bangor Fire Department also holds an annual chili and chowder cook off to benefit MDA of Maine.

While we're chatting about MDA of Maine, they are also hosting a Lock-Up in Bangor. Lock-Ups feature area community and business leaders as 'Jailbirds.' They're 'locked up' at the event until they reach their fundraising goal, or 'bail.' You can nominate a 'Jailbird' here.

The Bangor Lock-Up will be at Sea Dog, June 22, 10-2PM.
