Versant Power released a statement Friday saying that the scheduled maintenance will take place, just as most folks return home from their workday.

"The work will begin at 6:00 PM and take approximately three hours to complete, affecting service to customers on 82 and 92 Columbia St. and 81-115 Main St. in Bangor. Customers may experience service interruptions during this time as crews work to make repairs safely, improve reliability, and prevent future outages. We apologize for any inconvenience."

According to the WABITV5's 10-day forecast, while temps will be a bit milder on Tuesday afternoon, reaching into the 30s, the evening could see those fall into the teens. So you may want to take that into account and make arrangements to warm homes and businesses before the power gets shut off if you rely on electricity. At the same time, if you have business to do online, or a student reliant upon the internet to get homework assignments completed, it would probably be a good idea to make other arrangements for that time period.

Versant Power also reminds motorists who travel in that area of town Tuesday to slow down and use caution when approaching the utility crews who will be working on the project, and when possible, to move over or change lanes to give them plenty of space to operate.
