POLL RESULTS: Bangor Waterfront Or Cross Insurance Center?
And the winner is...
We are beyond blessed here in Bangor, to say the least. We have not one, but two killer venues to see some of the best live music acts anywhere. If you were given a chance to see your favorite artist, which place would you choose?
Well, the results are in, and the hands down choice is the newly christened Maine Savings Amphitheater, with 60% of the total vote.
Bangor Waterfront

Been to three concerts at the waterfront. Not impressed and probably won't go to another. Three times is enough.Jessie Jackson
The sound is way off inside the cross.Chasity Strout

Haven't been to a concert at the Cross but I've been to a comedy show and I couldn't even hear the guy (It was Ron White) from a corporate box. When I asked around, that's the 'norm'. If they can't get a person's speaking voice to people in the place, I can't imagine a concert is going to be much better. I didn't see a lot of sound deadening on the walls either.
I've been to several concerts at the waterfront and the venue seem to get better each time I go. It's not a perfect venue, may never be, but it is 5 minutes from my house, which is extremely convenient.
While Maine Savings Amphitheater will be closed during the next several chilly and frigid months, you can be sure that they will be back in May with another great lineup of concerts. And it’s always fun during the bleak winter months, when they announce an upcoming shwo.
As for the Cross Insurance Center, in addition to U Maine hoops, there are several events coming up, including:
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie-Saturday, November 13th, at 8pm
Maine Harvest Festival-Saturday & Sunday, November 20th & 21st, at 10am
Cirque Dreams Holiday-Thursday, December 9th, at 7:30pm
