This Saturday A New Restaurant & Tavern Opens In Brewer, Maine

New Biz Alert: Something exciting is coming to Brewer, this weekend!

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, things sure have changed quite a bit when it comes to nightlife in the Greater Bangor area.

Fewer and fewer people go out, and there aren't many places that stay open till last call, even on the weekends.

Mad Kat and Company, located at 391 North Main Street in Brewer, thrived for over four years, offering up nightly karaoke fun and food, but the owners had to put the business up for sale, in December of 2024.

Before that, you may remember it was known as Jester's, which was a well known fixture in the City of Brewer, but in September of 2020, Kat Markwith and her husband took over, changing the name to Mad Kat & Company.

The Mad Kat sale has been completed, and a brand new restaurant & tavern is just about to open their doors, in the same loaction.

Here is what to know, before you go!

The new business will be called Macks Restaurant and Tavern, with the plan being to open the doors, this Saturday, April 19th.

The new owners have given the place a much needed face lift, and will focus on making it a more family friendly establishment.

Macks Restaurant and Tavern will feature a full menu, that includes brunch, Fridays at noon, plus, a weekly Saturday & Sunday breakfast, starting at 9am.

There will also be an event room for various gatherings and celebrations.
