I'm guilty of all the worst clothing offenses.

I own one suit, and it's for all occasions. Is your kid graduating high school? I wear that suit. Are you getting married? Same suit. Does someone die? Same. Exact. Suit. In fact, for the most part, I wear the same thing every day. I wear some combination of a black t-shirt with shorts or jeans, and sneakers. That's pretty much it.

We all have that in-law, or uncle, or whatever, that shows up in some crazy version of what they think is "dressed up".

Oh, and hoodies, of course. I'm a creature of habit by design. I don't want to put any real effort into planning my outfit on any given day. I've watched my wife go bananas trying to choose her outfits for work. Not me. I got this down to a science. But, I can get thrown off pretty easily when I have to choose an outfit for something that's just not that dressy. It gives me total anxiety.

What if you're invited to something, and the dress is listed as 'Maine attire'?

This would probably also give me anxiety. But someone put this out on Reddit, and I'm assuming they got the type of answers they were looking for. I know I did. I combed through a few hundred comments and cherry-picked the best ones to share here. It certainly gives a humorous, if not totally accurate, glimpse into Maine culture.
