Missing 16-Year-Old Livermore Girl Found Safe a Mile From Home

A silver alert has been canceled after a missing 16-year-old Livermore Falls girl was found safe by searchers.

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife reports Asia Brown was found in a wooded area, about a mile from her home. A silver alert had been issued for the missing teen because she has high-functioning autism. Asia was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday at her home on Campground Road in Livermore Falls. By morning, she was gone.

At around 8:00 Monday evening, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs volunteer Leslie Howe and her K9 Uerly were going back over an area that had been previously searched when they located Asia in the woods, near a field. Officials say they believe the teen had been moving around in the area, making it difficult for searchers to find her. Howe and Uerly, a Dutch Shephard, are members of MESARD, a volunteer organization that assists the Maine Warden Service in missing person searches.

Game Wardens reunited Asia with her family, bringing her Mom to the area where she was found. The teen was examined by emergency medical personnel and was transported to a local hospital to get checked out, as a precaution.

The Maine Warden Service was assisted in this search by the Livermore Falls Police Department, Maine State Police, Maine Forest Service, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, Maine Association for Search and Rescue, Livermore Falls Fire Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Buckfield Fire Department, and the Androscoggin Sheriff's Office.
