A Mars Hill woman died instantly when her convertible struck the porch on a house.

Police say the accident happened late Tuesday night in Harrington. 48-year-old Lynda Foss was traveling on Main Street in Harrington when she lost control of her Toyota sports car. According to the BDN, her car struck a porch on the front of a house at 1233 Main Street and became lodged under it. No one else was hurt in the crash.

Speed is believed to have been a factor. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death and to test for drugs or alcohol.
