The wait is over!

Summer officially arrives tonight, at 10:42pm. That doesn't help much for Friday, but tomorrow, everything we have been waiting for on a Saturday, finally happens.

By our count, the last 13 Saturdays have either been filled with rain, or cloud cover, and that is pretty damn depressing. Not to worry, Saturday is everything you have been wanting and more.

A sunny sky and highs of 82 degrees are expected for tomorrow, with low humidity and no wind!

If you aren't headed to the beach, or a camp, there are some fun things going on this Saturday, that you might want to check out:

The Pittston Fair runs from June 19th–22nd This local country fair has games, midway rides, and a strawberry festival

In Bar Harbor, The Ocean Festival, at Bar Harbor Oceanarium, is a maritime celebration with live music, family activities & marine exhibits.

After that, things get really uncomfortable, with an expected high of 96 on Tuesday, with some intense humidity. Should be a crazy day, because that is a near record temperature!

Not to worry, there are some steps you can take to keep cool:

    • Stay hydrated with plenty of water
    • Spend as much time in air-conditioned spaces as possible
    • Check in with any elderly family or neighbors to make sure they're cool enough and taking precautions
    • Make sure your pet is staying hydrated and limit their time outside
    • Dress appropriately for the weather, with light-colored, loose-fitting clothes
    • Use sunscreen whenever you go out and reapply as necessary
    • Postpone unnecessary outdoor activities
    • Limit children's time outside and keep them inside where it's cooler

Enjoy Maine's gorgeous weather this weekend, but remember, the humidity is coming!
