Lavender Fields Will Be Open This Friday In Newport
This Friday, bring the family to check out the start of the lavender season right here in the State of Maine.
Moore Manor Lavender, located at 302 Stetson Road in Newport, will be opening their fields this weekend for the start of the season.
They have included an 'Open House' event this Friday and Saturday to kick off the season with the presence of the food truck 'Silverton Foods & BBQ Bar' at the event.
You'll have the opportunity to not only buy yourself some lovely lavender to bring home but you'll also be taught how to plant and care for your new lovely lavender.
The gift shop will be open for visitors and visitors are welcomed to sample their lavender cookies!
Don't expect blooming lavender quite yet, it's a little early in the season for that. You can visit Moore Manor again near the end of June or beginning of July to see the lavender in full bloom.
According to WebMD, lavender helps many conditions including stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and dementia. Lavender oil seems to have many benefits that deal with relaxing muscles and sedative properties. It is also possible that lavender oil could be antifungal and antibacterial as well.
