Got a little rocker in your life who would love a week of jammin' this summer?  Nonprofit organization Launchpad has partnered with the Maine Academy of Modern Music to bring a summer camp to Bangor unlike any other!

Bangor will host a Summer Rock Camp for kids 11 and older and will run from July 23rd to the 27th from 9 AM - 3:30 PM.  The hosting venue will be located at the new Bangor Arts Exchange in Downtown Bangor.

The best part is that your kiddos can have any skill level and will learn how to play in a band, perform and write their own music.  They will learn from area educators and local musicians tips on how to set up their own shows in the area as well as learn some history of modern music.

This a camp that has been in other communities in Maine including Portland, Augusta and Machias.  Portland's camps offer several camp weeks throughout the summer focusing on different themes, including songwriting and recording, girls rock camp and a junior rock camp for younger kids.

This camp is an exciting opportunity for Bangor's area youth, as expressed by Launchpad's Executive Director, Meg Shorette:

The opportunity to provide music education to our community at a time when we’re often seeing funding for the arts and music in schools shrinking, not only serves our mission, but ensures the growth of future musicians developing within the Greater Bangor area.

Tuition is $300 for the week and scholarships are available so give your kids an experience that could launch a lifelong love of creation and register now!
