Downtown Bangor Wants You To Know There Are Plenty Of Places To Drink!
I'm not entirely sure what was originally said to insight such a response, but the folks behind the Downtown Bangor Partnership have gone out of their way to put together a comprehensive list of businesses that make up the fabric of Downtown Bangor's nightlife and stick it right up on their Facebook Page for all to see.
"Some of you may have heard that the downtown Bangor nightlife scene lacks diversity and late-night options. Quite frankly this spreading of misinformation surprised us and many of our downtown businesses."

"In order to dispel that myth, please accept this quick round-up of options for both your late night and your beverage variety needs."
Then they went on to list, in alphabetical order, 24 local bars and eateries at which one could get a snack or drink on any given evening.
Some places shut down between 8 and 9:30, like 11 Central, Pepino's Mexican Restaurants, Portland Pie Company, 2 Feet Brewing, and Evenrood's.

Some remain open a little later like Blaze Bangor, Nocturnem Draft Haus, Queen City Cinema Club, and Sea Dog Brewing Company Bangor.

Each place named on the list comes complete with a description of what makes them unique and interesting. And with 2 dozen different places all within a few block radius, the Downtown Bangor folks have effectively countered the argument that "there's not a lot to choose from when dining and drinking downtown."
