A motorcyclist is dead, and his passenger is hospitalized after they collided with a school bus.

Augusta, Maine Man Was Killed in a Collision Between His Motorcycle and a School Bus

Augusta Police say three people were involved in the crash on Cony Street.

Two people were on the motorcycle that collided with a school bus.

The driver has been identified as Jeffery Kyllonen Sr., 48, and his passenger as Kareanne Kyllonen, 47, both of Augusta.

The school bus driver is Ricky Martin, 68, of Augusta.

No students were on the bus.

Augusta and Maine State Police are investigating the crash that happened Tuesday afternoon, September 15, 2026, at approximately 1:30 pm.

Officials say the collision involved a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 2018 Thomas school bus.

Police have not released any details about the crash, as their investigation continues.

Mr. Kyllonen was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Kareanne Kyllonen was transported via LifeFlight to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Cony Street in Augusta was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators worked to determine what happened.
