August 11th is the 39th Annual Hampden Children's Day!  The Hampden Children's Day Facebook page has listed the event schedule and we can't wait to take the kiddos!

The day will begin at 9:30 A.M. with Bike Safety Training where new helmets will be given out, either exchanged for old ones or in need of new helmets.  After trading in for a new helmet, kids can start lining up at the gated access to the soccer field at Reeds Brook Middle School to decorate their bikes and get ready to lead the Children's Day Parade.

At 10 A.M., registration for the the Craig T. McBean Memorial Fun Run will begin at the Reeds Brook Middle School gym.  The race will start at 10:45 A.M. at Reeds Brook and end at Frost's Garage, prior to the start of the Children's Day Parade.

11 A.M. the Children's Day Parade will start at Reeds Brook and end at Hampden Academy.

After the parade, head over to the Weatherbee School Grounds were kids will get to play on bounce houses, try out an obstacle course, play field games or even build and craft.

Special events include a petting zoo, horse and carriage rides, performances, dancing and plenty of pastry fun (cake walk, pie eating contest).

The day will finish up with live music by Riff Johnson at 6:30 P.M. and fireworks behind the Weatherbee School at 9 P.M.
