This dude has jokes...lots of em'

Prescott Vanmeyer III,(which sounds like the name of the snooty preppy guy in every 80's teen movie) is known as "unemployedwineguy" on YouTube, and other social media platforms. He lost his job as a result of the pandemic and now reviews various food and beverages on the internet to make a few bucks. His style seems to be lots of sarcasm, which is a good thing when you are talking at length about soda.

unemployedwineguy has an impressive 101K subscribers, and this time around he takes on the item that has most Mainers split down the middle, the one and only Moxie. He seems to enjoy it at times, but he is cracking so many jokes, he may as well be doing a stand-up routine. One of my favorite lines was "It will cure your taste buds...of feelings"

If you need a refresher, Moxie, is a soda that is among the first mass-produced soft drinks in the United States. It was created around 1876 by Augustin Thompson, who hailed from Union, Maine, as a patent medicine called "Moxie Nerve Food" Moxie's flavor is unique to say the least, it's also an acquired one. A sweet drink with a bitter aftertaste(to put it midly) Moxie is flavored with gentian root extract, an extremely bitter substance commonly used in herbal medicine. Moxie was designated the official soft drink of Maine on May 10, 2005. There is even a yearly festival, that was postponed again this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
