One of Maine's largest amusement parks will not open for the 2020 season.

Funtown Splashtown USA will not open this summer. According to News Center Maine, the summer attraction will not open for the first time since 1960 due to COVID-19 restrictions. The closure is also partially due to national level impacts on the hiring of temporary workers through the J-1 Visa program.

The current owner told News Center Maine, "if the pandemic lasts into 2021, Funtown Splashtown may be forced to close for good."
