Foo Fighters Concertgoers in Bangor Must Provide Proof of Vaccination, Negative Test

Big concert news was announced yesterday here in Bangor.

Yes, that's right, the Foo Fighters will play the Maine Savings Amphitheater, formerly Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, on the Bangor waterfront, Wednesday night, July 27, 2022.

This got us wondering about our own local and very outside concert venue, so we contacted the promotor of the Bangor show, Alex Gray of Waterfront Concerts, to get his take.

Mr. Gray pointed out the language that one sees when purchasing tickets which has been in place since October 4, although updated recently.

It states that in order to see any show at Maine Savings Amphitheater "All fans 5 years of age or older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) and provide proof of vaccination (i.e. original vaccination card or a copy of vaccination card), or have received a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before entry to the facility and provide proof of negative result to security prior to entering the venue. Unvaccinated fans under 5 years of age will be required to take a COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before entry to the facility and provide proof of negative results to security prior to entering the venue." 

Mr. Gray has "no clue" as to why the Foo Fighters decided not to play Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and the band's Tweet only mentioned that they were trying to find a "suitable replacement" to play in that area. Local media there publicized a statement received from the University of Minnesota stating that more than 95% of the student population is vaccinated, while COVID policies on GopherSports.com state that anyone within indoor locations of the stadium must wear a mask or other face covering, regardless of vaccination.
