Dressbarn announced this week that it will close all of its retail locations, which amounts to approximately 650 stores.

In a media release from the company's website, Dressbarn officials haven't said when the stores will close but say that information will be forthcoming. In the meantime, the retail stores are open and conducting business as usual. Once the stores are shuttered, customers will still be able to buy the company's merchandise through its website.

Chief Financial Officer Steven Taylor said, in the media release, the company's been in business for more than 50 years and will continue to operate in an online capacity. But, he explained, the retail stores are just not performing the way they should. Employees of the retail stores will be notified about their stores' closure dates and will be provided with transition support.
