Curious When The Various Restaurants at Korean Dad Are Open? We Got You.
Yes, you read that right. There's way more than one restaurant in there.
A while back, the Bangor area got super pumped when Korean Dad opened at 1492 State Street in Veazie. It did however, seem like they weren't quite ready for how pumped Bangor was. No big deal. They scaled back to what felt comfortable to them and moved on. Nowadays, it may seem like a new restaurant is popping up in that space every week.
And you're not entirely wrong. The operative word in that sentence being "pop". Most of these spots that are in there might be called "pop-up restaurants". This is a concept I saw years ago in Portland, but hadn't seen anything like it here in Bangor before. But essentially, there are 5 different restaurant concepts operating out of that one location.
So what are all these different concepts?
The one everybody is still the most familiar with, is Korean Dad. They serve their family recipes for delicious Korean food. There's also African Cuisine. A peek at their menu shows some really eclectic food I'd love to try. If you've never had Filipino food, maybe you should check out Kusina. They're yet another addition to the group.
Next would be Lilia's Cuban Cafe. I love me a Cuban sandwich. It's definitely in my top 5. I haven't been over to try theirs, but I look forward to it. Ca C'est Bon has been a popular food truck around town, serving up Cajun-inspired food. they also have a spot of their own at Korean Dad.
When will all these folks be open?
This week, Korean Dad put out a post via their Facebook page, showing the set schedule for when all these different restaurants will be open. It was a welcome sight, as there seemed to be some growing confusion about when the different folks were open. This schedule becomes official on April 1st. Check that out here:
It's kind of cool to have a location around here where you could go to the same spot every day, and have something different. It makes me rather envious of people who live close by. But trust me... I'll get my fill. Don't worry.
When you've had your fill around here, head Downeast...
