The City of Brewer posted to Facebook about the suspension of it's trash program which requires residents to pay for specific orange trash bags.

This will take effect Monday, March 30th and will continue for 60 days, until the end of May.

Here is the post from Facebook from City Manager Steve Bost:

The Facebook post reads:

Temporary Suspension of Brewer Trash Tag Program

Brewer Residents,

In recognition of these unprecedented times and the financial hardship facing many in our community, the City of Brewer has decided to suspend its Pay As You Throw trash program for the next 60 days. Starting tomorrow, March 30, and continuing through the end of May, the household trash and recycling you place curbside will not need an orange Brewer trash tag. The City will reevaluate the end date of this temporary suspension if the COVID-19 situation at the time warrants it.

Be well and stay safe.

Steve Bost
City Manager
