Popular Bangor Restaurant Gets New Owners, Exciting Changes Ahead
Smoke and Steel BBQ offers not only classic southern cuisine & BBQ, but some axe throwing too!
They opened their doors at 471 Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, over four years ago, back on July 28th, 2021, but some big changes are coming!
The business has new owners, Katie and Bryan O'Learly and Dave and Cassandra Matson. All four are locals of the Bangor area, and they know people love the BBQ and axe throwing, so don't worry that's not going away.
Katie and Brian have years of restaurant and bar experience and are excited to make this their own in a fun new way!

You'll still have your favorite staff members working and lots of your favorite BBQ menu items will remain, but there are some exciting new additions being added that you'll definitely want to order.
Here are some of the upcoming changes:
- Professional grade sports and golf simulators will be added to the restaurant. These simulators will also offer lots of games for the kids, because the new owners want to welcome families to enjoy the restaurant, including sports teams, and large parties, even if it's large walk-in groups.
- The new ownership will be re-branding at some point with a fresh, brand new name, and the game plan is to focus on being a family friendly sport entertainment restaurant/bar, so keep an eye on the Smoke & Steel Facebook page for updates.
- They will now be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
- Live music & entertainment will be making a big comeback soon.
