Is there any doubt that those within the field of education have had their work cut out for themselves lately?  None whatsoever.

Being outside of the box, one can only imagine the frustration of not knowing what tomorrow may bring.  Will the kids be at school tomorrow?  Will they be learning remotely?  Will that game still be played?  It's gotta be hard.

Yesterday, we heard from Marty, the owner of several McDonalds restaurants in the Bangor and Brewer area, and he informed us that the world's most known fast food eatery will be dishing out free food as a way to thank local area teachers for their passion towards their jobs and their hard work.

Marty told us, "We’d like to thank teachers for showing us the value of serving others, respect, and the importance of giving joy. These days, when the chalkboard might be a computer screen, and a desk might be the kitchen table, we are learning from teachers how to go above and beyond. We understand the values teachers instill in our future generation, and we’d like to pay it forward with a “Thank You Treat.”

So, between today, January 6th, and Friday, January 15th, every McDonalds in Maine will offer up one of their new bakery sweets and any sized hot coffee to a teacher.  All teachers have to do is show a valid teacher's ID any any McDonald's drive-thru.

We'd be pretty excited as we start to drool anytime when baked goods are mentioned, and teachers get to choose from either apple fritter, cinnamon roll, or blueberry muffin.

Well deserved, and enjoy!
