Arby’s Return Has Us Thinking… 5 Restaurants Bangor Should Get Next

We already know a new Wendy’s is coming to 450 Wilson Street in Brewer. But now there’s even bigger news—Arby’s is officially returning, and fans can once again say, “We have the meats!”

The new spot will be at 57 Bangor Mall Boulevard, near the Bangor Mall, in the same location as the old Arby’s. Instead of starting from scratch, they’re renovating the existing 4,100-square-foot building.

It’ll include a drive-thru, around 49 parking spaces, and some updates like new pavement, curbing, and utilities. The building itself won’t change much, but it’s getting a full refresh.

The Bangor Planning Board signed off on the project back on February 3, but it still needs a traffic permit from the Maine DOT before anything gets rolling. If all goes smoothly, it could open within a year.

Bangor hasn’t had an Arby’s since 2015, when the original location, open since 1983, closed after the owner retired. Now, after more than a decade, it’s finally coming back.
