Well, so long summer, we had some good times...it was fun while it lasted...

Fall arrived this morning at 9:31 AM, and in such a strange, depressing year, it is very bittersweet to see summertime leave us behind. On one hand, everyone would agree that this year can't end fast enough, on the other hand, we live in Maine, so the idea of cold weather coming our way is kind of a drag. In fact, yesterday morning, much to my surprise, I had to use my damn ice scraper at 5:15 am in the morning, and when I got in my car, the thermometer read a mere 34 degrees. That's more than enough to make you want to go back to bed and pull the covers over your head and wait for springtime to come.

Susannah Warner of Anson, Maine, wrote a very charming farewell letter to the end of the summer on her Facebook page. Susannah has a photoblog on her webiste http://Spunkynoni.com/ that is just as charming as her love letter to warm, sunny days where the sun stays out out till almost 8pm. She works as a registered nurse at Redington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She describes herself as "A wife, mother, grandmother and nurse. Lover of God, nature, adventure and books. An observer and a doer, an explorer and a homebody. I write about and take pictures of it all."

Enjoy her post, and don't forget to enjoy the beauty of fall in the state of Maine. Leaves changing, Halloween, pumpkins, apple picking. See, it's not all bad!
