Write the date down, or put it in your phone now!
It probably seems a little bit early to be bringing up our annual Free The Z turkey drive, but this has been a year like no other, so we think it's important to help get the word out as much, and as soon as possilbe to ensure that we hopefully not only exceed our yearly goal, but maybe even have our best year ever. That's where you come in.
Way back in 2000, our aftrnoon host, Cori was the very first person to move into the Brewer Hannaford parking lot to collect birds. Since then, it's pretty much been yours truly, with Dan Cashman bunking up with me for two different Free The Z years. That however isn't counting all the station employees, businesses and other folks who have all pitched into make this yearly event an important part of our community.
With the COVID-19 pandemic changing our daily way of life as we know it, the need to feed families here in our area will be enormous, so we hope that you can join us at in the Brewer Hannaford parking lot, starting Tuesday, November 17th, at 6am. Since we have the luxury of so much time beofre the event, we are brainstorming ways that we can make everything safe, and as socially distanced as possilbe. There will be many more details to come, but we just wanted to announce our 20th year to you all. Hope to see you in November.
This is our biggest and most important event of the year, and every single year, Z listeners and the community have stepped up and made sure that people right here in our area will have a nice Thanksgiving dinner.
