Youth Ice Fishing Event Coming to Brewer In February
The Penobscot County Conservation Association is hosting an event to get kids outside and try out one of Mainer's favorite pastimes, ice fishing.
The Penobscot County Conservation Association annual ice fishing event is slated for Sunday, February 20 with a day of winter fishing kicking off at 9 AM. This 5-hour event will be a free day of fishing for kids that have just learned to walk to kids that are learning to drive - toddler to 15.
This event is taking place at LeVasseur Pond in Brewer, where the Penobscot County Conservation Association's headquarters are.
The best part is parents don't need to have any experience with this either because this event will have experienced sportspeople who will be monitoring and teaching. They will be providing the bait and equipment as well as have spots on the pond with pre-drilled holes and pre-placed ice fishing traps.
A donation to the club can get you a warm beverage and snacks while at the event.
The Penobscot County Conservation Association is a club out of Brewer that uses its efforts to promote and preserve the sporting spirit in Penobscot County. They are a part of lots of local events that happen in the area including The Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show in March and The Bangor Gun Show in September.
