SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE: Yoshi is just for sale. They are NOT closed. Say it with me one more time... they are NOT closed. In fact, they are open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day except Wednesday. Once more for the people in the back... Just kidding. You get the idea.

But it is true just the same. Our beloved Yoshi restaurant in good old Brewer, Maine is for sale as we speak. I was just looking at the listing at BizBuySell.com, and it's there. I'd heard rumors of such tales, but hadn't yet confirmed it for myself, until now.

I tell you.... this "author" has eaten many a meal from Yoshi. Everything from a casual quick lunch during my work day, to my 12th wedding anniversary dinner. I'm a big fan of sushi. But to be honest, they have really killer Pad Thai as well. And really.... it's about 750 feet from the front door of my work, so it's a no-brainer.

But, for anyone looking to get into the restaurant biz, this is a great opportunity. I've owned a couple myself. I've mentioned it many times, but I do know a little about the foodservice industry. Yoshi is always a busy spot, and it's big with the locals. I'm sure the folks from away like it too, but who cares about them, right?! Hahahaha....

I'm guessing it comes with all the stuff you see in the photos from the listing. Tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, etc., though the listing doesn't specify. The sale price seems reasonable enough, at $290,000. True turnkey businesses are hard to find sometimes. This certainly seems like one.

Now, I don't want to imply rolling sushi is easy, because it's NOT. But... it is a skill you can get good at with practice. I make it at home sometimes, but it usually just makes me want to get it at a restaurant by the time I'm finished with all the mess and stuff. Whoever the new owner is will get plenty of my money, no worries.

Sometimes what a restaurant really needs is some fresh blood. It looks like the current owners want to relocate to be closer to family, which is totally understandable. Just the same, sometimes a new owner with fresh ideas is just what a place needs to take it to the next level. Maybe that's the case here. We'll see soon enough....
