Shake, Rattle + Roll: Here Are The Worst Potholes In Eastern Maine

As we celebrate the first day of Spring this week,  not only have we entered into a season of blooms and growth and hope (for the coming summer and what it might bring,) but we enter into a season of destruction... the destruction of our vehicles, and sometimes even our feet and legs, because of potholes.

We asked. You answered. And from those answers, we compiled a list of some of the worst potholes in Eastern Maine.

We got specifics of a few spots in Brewer that have tortured tires recently. There are craters along State St., Essex St., Ohio, and Hammond Streets in Bangor that you'll want to avoid.

And along the Stillwater section of the bridge in Old Town has become a battlefield that needs to be carefully navigated.

Waterville, the entire city, made the list. As did spots in Ellsworth, too.

And we're not implying, by any means, that this is from lack of effort.

In fact, we've both heard from and seen some of our favorite Public Works and DOT folks who have confirmed that this pothole season has been one of the worst they've seen since the Ice Storm of 1998...and that's saying something!

Mother Nature has been poking holes in the roads here in Eastern Maine, so make sure when you do head out, you keep your eyes peeled for the big ole' craters that might be out there...lurking around every corner, just waiting to swallow your cars whole!

So check this gallery out before you take to the roads today. It could just save your tires from becoming collateral pothole damage.
