They stretch out into the water, and are usually populated by those that fish for a living along with the occasional tourist carrying a camera who may also be looking to buy a few pounds of crabs or lobster.  Some are small and made from wood with boats called dinghy tied to them, while others are made of both concrete and steel, big enough to accommodate a fleet of ferries, and are lined with popular restaurants to serve those that work or visit the city.

They are the working piers that dot the coast of Maine, serving those without fail, and here are a just a few of our favorites.
