Winslow Man Dies In Maine’s First Fatal Moose Crash Of 2018

A Winslow man is dead after his car struck a bull moose on Interstate 95 in Medway on Friday.

Donnie Wilcox, 54, was southbound when his Subaru struck the moose at about 10 p.m. The impact threw the moose into the windshield and peeled back the car's roof, according to police.

Passersby found the crash shortly after it happened, but there were no witnesses .  Wilcox died at the scene and the moose also was killed.

It was the first fatal crash of a moose and a vehicle in 2018 in Maine.
