Things are ready to get cranked up again, so we must ask, what's your favorite Bangor Waterfront concert over the last 10 years?

A year ago as we were right in the thick of the pandemic, the thought of concerts on the Bangor Waterfront(or anywhere for that matter) were a pipe dream at best, but here we are at the tail end of June, waiting for the reemergence of live music coming back to town.

With the upcoming Luke Bryan's "Proud To Be Right Here Tour 2021" coming to town on Thursday, August 5, and KISS threatening to hang it up once again with the "End of the Road World Tour" on Thursday, August 19, those of us vaccinated folk can once again spend a hot summer night enjoying fantastic tunes right by the Penobscot River.

All of this daydreaming about going to a show made me think about the many concerts I have been to over the last 10 years, and which ones I loved the most. Now you should probably know that I am not much of a country music fan, and I do realize that a majority of the big shows that have been here, have been acts like Kenny Chesney. Mine lean towards the rock side. Hopefully in the future, we will get more pop based shows, like when Kesha hit the stage back way back in 2013.

Van Halen

Never in a million years did I think I'd be able to walk 5 minutes down the street and see a band that I grew up with. The mighty Van Halen came to Bangor, in July of 2015. I had seen them five previous times, and to have them in my hometown was a dream come true. Sadly, it turned out to be the last time, after we lost the great Eddie Van Halen last year.

Stone Temple Pilots

The one and only time I got to see STP, I picked the right night. Scott Weiland was in rare form. He ultimately lost his battle with his many demons. but on this evening, he was on point, 100%

Sting

I grew up obsessed with The Police, so when I found out that Sting was on tour and coming here, with a stripped down band, and mostly playing Police songs, I could not get to the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion fast enough!

The Beach Boys

There are few acts as legendary as the Beach Boys. Nothing says summertime like those guys, and when they played on a warm summer night, back in 2012, it was a night I will always remember, because there were some pretty serious storm clouds gathering, that magically disappeared when the music started.

Tedeschi Trucks Band

They may not be as well known as some the other artists I have mentioned, but from a musical standpoint, it was incredible. Fantastic musicians all coming together to bring some serious jams to the waterfront.

So those are my faves, curious to hear yours!
