Portland celebrated St. Paddy's Day early!

If you're from New England, you know all about one of Boston's best bands, Dropkick Murphy's. Bangor had the pleasure of seeing them perform on the Bangor Waterfront a couple of summers ago, and last night they brought their American Celitc brand of punk rock to the State Theater in Portland.

They are famous for their St. Patrick's Day week shows, held in and around Boston. They worked the Portland crowd into a frenzy with hits like the 2004 single "Tessie", and of course the classic "I'm Shipping Up to Boston", which not only was featured in the 2006 Academy Award-winning movie The Departed, but can also can be heard at pretty much any Boston sports game, especially at Fenway Park.

YouTube Sara Ellis attended the show, and was kind enough to post some great video of "Rose Tattoo" and "I'm Shipping Up To Boston", just in time to get you in the mood for Saturday!
