Our pets make the world a better place, so let's help out and give them the love they so richly deserve!

Two events are coming up, that will benefit our best friends in the world, animals.

Wednesday, October 13, from 10 am–5 pm, it's the "Tats and Dogs Fundraiser", at Diversified Ink Tattoo, located at the Penobscot Plaza, 51 Washington St, Bangor. You can get some sweet ink, and it will benefit the Old Town Animal Orphanage and NFR Maine.

To request an appointment, send an email to info@diversifiedink.net and make sure to include your name, phone number and the number of the design you would like. You will receive a reply if there is space available and you will get an appointment time. It is first-come, first-served.

The cost is $100, black only with one accent color if desired. The ink is extremities only. Artists will be randomly assigned.

The good folks at Machias Savings Bank will be collecting donations at their Bangor and Brewer locations for the “Furry Friends Food Bank”. All throughout October, you can help local pets in need.

It’s run by the Eastern Area Agency on Aging and passes out pet food to low-income adults over the age of 60. Furry Friends serves almost 400 pet owners and distributes roughly 13,000 pounds of pet food and litter every month.

Furry Friends is asking for donations of wet and dry dog and cat food and cat litter. So head to either Machias Saving Bank at 581 Wilson St, Brewer, or their Bangor location at 1126 Hammond St.

Two very different, but excellent opportunities to donate!
