If you are headed to the Cross Insurance Center, and Buck Street area in Bangor there are a few changes coming that you need to know about.

As the Cross Insurance Center gets ready for the upcoming Bangor State Fair, equipment will begin arriving this weekend. Access to Lot C will be blocked starting first thing Saturday morning and will remain blocked for the duration of the fair, which kicks off next Thursday, August 5. I live in the neighborhood, so I can tell you first hand, that traffic can be a burden in this area, especially this time of year, so be aware that these changes are about to go into effect.

If you are headed out to see the ponies, in order to access the grandstands or the back parking areas for harness racing, you must use the Buck Street back entrance to the track, which is located adjacent to Third Street.

Fair-wise, things are going to be a bit different, The Bangor State Fair will be a condensed version for 2021. Instead of 9 days, it runs from Thursday, August 5, through Sunday, August 8.

With this in mind, the following events will not take place this year:

Demolition Derby
Truck Pulls
Tractor Pulls
Old McDonald Farm
Independent Vendor Midway

All the adult and kiddie rides we all love, will still be there for you to enjoy!

The Bangor State Fair runs Thursday, August, 5, from 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Friday, August 6, from 2:00 PM–11:00 PM, Saturday, August 7, from 12:00 PM–11:00 PM, and the final day hours on Sunday, August 8, from 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
