The building in Bangor, still remains unoccupied

Here we sit just about two months past the day that the Main Streeet location of Tim Horton's shut down for good, and the question remians, what should go there next?

If you happen to drive down Main Street in Bangor, past the Tim Hortons, it might have caught your eye, that the the outdoor sign has been taken down, and there has been a giant dumpster near the entrance of the store, for a few months now.

The 444 Main Street location closed, not surprisingly since the parking lot has been empty, and also because rumors have been going around town that something new was coming to that building.

This particular Tim Hortons location has had a few changes over the past few years. The 444 Main Street store closed back in December of 2021, due to the staffing issues that have plagued many businesses, when the pandemic started, back in 2020.

After being closed for about 14 months, they re-opened the doors, on February 3, 2023.

At one point, according to the Tim Hortons website, the location was open from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on weekdays, but it is no longer listed.

It is a bit confusing that it wasn't more successful since it is in such a popular, well-traveled part of Bangor, that is very close to the Cross Insurance Center, Hollywood Casino, and the Maine Savings Amphitheater concert site.

What does the future hold for 444 Main Street? The answer to that question will be coming soon, no doubt, but we would love to know what your ideas are?

What do you think should open up shop next? A fast food restaurant, bank, pub, or another coffee shop, are all possibilities.

Rumours have been swirling for months, that a Aroma Joe's location is headed for the Bangor Mall area, with a drive-thru, near Sam's Club, at the corner of Haskell and Hogan road, right next to Swett's Tire and Auto in Bangor.

In the Bangor/Brewer area, there are still Tim Hortons locations waiting to serve you, at 301 Odlin Road, 594 Broadway, and 394 Wilson Street in Brewer.
