It's all about the kids this Saturday in downtown Bangor, as the Kid Central Festival 2019 kicks off at 10AM. Families can pick up their free maps at Kid Central Headquarters, 29 Central Street. There will be free family-friendly activities throughout the morning and afternoon, at various spots across Bangor. For complete details, check out their website here.

But here are three things everyone is bound to enjoy at this year's Kid Central Festival!

1.) The Super Hero Costume Contest

Who doesn't love to dress up as their favorite super hero? And with all the hype surrounding Avengers: Endgame, I have a feeling we will see quite a few of the Avengers making appearances downtown Saturday The Costume Contest will take place at 12:30 at Kid Central Headquarters, 29 Central Street.

2.) Get A Free Comic Book

There are two spot at this year's Kid Central Festival where kids can pick up a free comic! The Briar Patch at 27 Central St. and Top Shelf Comics at 115 Main Street will start handing comics out at 10AM, so you'll want to get there early because we're told those comics go fast.

3.) Story Time with Chris Van Dusen at the Briar Patch!

Maine author/illustrator, Chris Van Dusen will be at the Briar Patch on Central St. reading his newest picture book, A Piglet Named Mercy. That will take place at 10:30, and of course if you don't already have your own copy, there will be copies for sale at the store.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, be safe, and enjoy.
