The Weeknd Teases Completion of New Album
It's only been a little over a year since The Weeknd released his third studio album, Starboy, but it appears the Canadian singer is already gearing up for the release of a new project.
On Friday (March 23), the "I Feel it Coming" singer posted three new videos on Instagram with the caption "mastering." Mastering is usually the final step before releasing an album, and the Instagram posts come two weeks after the singer posted a photo with the caption "mixing."
It's also not the first time we've heard about The Weeknd's next album. Earlier this month, Travis Scott took to Twitter to share his excitement about the upcoming project. "Abel new album is scray," he tweeted. "It's like when I first heard him for the first time."
The Weeknd previously discussed working on a new album during a 2016 interview with Billboard. “After this album’s done we’ll be working," he said. "I have ideas and songs that I want to get out of my head.”
In related Weeknd news, the singer is bringing his album alter ego, Starboy, to Marvel Comics. Based on the album of the same name, the graphic novel will be written by La Mar Taylor and Christos Gate. Issue No. 1 of Starboy will be available on June 13.
