The day is getting closer!

After many years of stopping into the Big Apple on Wilson Street in Brewer, before I went to work (and by many, I mean decades) my world was rocked, back on July 9th of last year, when they closed their doors, to knock it the ground, for a much need remodeling.

Was it inconvenient, yes! Was it necessary? Absolutely! Let's face it, they were a few years past their prime, especially when you look at all the super stores that have popped up in recent years.

So, last summer, they tore it down, promising a Spring re-opening. And now, here we are, at the beginning of March, and things are looking pretty, pretty good.

The first thing you notice when you drive down Wilson Street is that it is much bigger, which would indicate that it will probably have many more options than before. Also, the space it shared with CN Brown, is now gone, as is the car wash that was located there. Plus, it is much more visually pleasing to look at. The old store was a bit of an eyesore.

If I were a betting man, I would wager that they will offer a full-service deli and a bigger selection of choices.

Based on what you can see from the outside, it has the look and feel of any modern convenience store, which is what you need to keep up with the big boys these days.

So, if you are like me, and The Big Apple was your spot to gas up or get a cup of coffee, or other everyday items, it looks like they will be back, bigger and better than ever. And, it looks like they will be back in action very soon.
