Finding what you need in healthcare as a patient can be very difficult and, if you agree, you should check out a walk this Sunday, June 3rd in Bangor to raise awareness on the need for a more informed patient experience in healthcare.  The walk will be at Cascade Park in Bangor and starts at 10 A.M.

The walk is being put on by Angel Advocates for Patient Care, a local organization with a mission to "raise awareness on patient care and their rights as well as promoting support for the Angel Advocates for Patient Care Walk, share information , share stories, and donate to organizations that support advocacy."

Kelli Littlefield organized the event and wanted to turn her own experiences of working in the healthcare field and being a patient herself into an awareness walk that advocates for patients' needs.

Littlefield states healthcare is difficult to navigate as a patient in many different circumstances, "...whether you are looking for a new primary care doctor, specialist doctor, need to have surgery and stay overnight in the hospital or maybe end up in emergency room needing more serious care."

"My hope and goal of the walk is to raise awareness on a much-needed area in healthcare today as well as provide some informational healthcare resources to the public," says Littlefield.

The walk is free but you can purchase a few items to help fund the event and future events for the group, including t-shirts, bracelets and donations are welcomed as well.
