Of all the Stephen King stories that will make you sit back and reconsider popularity, "Misery" has got to be in first place. It was originally brought to the stage in New York with Bruce Willis playing novelist Paul Sheldon. Starting in October, Penobscot Theatre will be taking on this show.

Although anyone who reads can relate to a level of disgust when your favorite author kills off your favorite character, Misery's Annie Wilkes takes that disgust to a whole new level, maybe two. The original book by Stephen King was adapted into this play by William Goldman.

Broadway World reports, Bari Newport is directing the Penobscot Theatre Company production, assisted by Ben Layman who is also cast in the role of the unlucky sheriff. Regional powerhouses AJ Mooney of Bangor and James Konicek (AEA) of Washington, DC. are playing Annie and Paul.

The show will run in Bangor from October 12 - November 5. Click here for tickets and additional information. Penobscot Theatre is located at 131 Main Street in Bangor.

Here is crazy Annie but if you've never seen it ** Spoiler Alert**
