Police are looking for a Buxton man who was involved in a standoff with police after allegedly getting into an altercation with his son.

Buxton Police say they received the original call just before 9:30 Tuesday morning, that Brady Dix Sr. had possession of a shotgun at 71 Dunnell Road. The caller said the 44-year-old had been in a physical fight with his son and that the family had left the building, and were safely located outside. Officials ran a check on Dix and found that he was currently on bail, with conditions of release to include no use or possession of dangerous weapons, including firearms.

Maine State Police aided local authorities in setting up a perimeter around the home. They repeatedly attempted to contact Dix, both by phone and through the use of a public address system. When he didn't respond, they obtained a search warrant for 71 Dunnell Road, and an arrest warrant for Dix. Buxton officers, assisted by the Maine State Police Tactical Unit, entered the home just before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon and found that Dix was no longer there. A search was launched but, so far, there's been on sign of him.

Brady Dix Sr. is described as a white male, 44 years old, 6'4" tall, 220 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing camo patterned shorts, a dark gray t-shirt, and sneakers. Officials say it's unknown if he has a firearm.

Anyone with information on his location is advised not to approach him, but to call police immediately.
