‘Shed Happens’ On The Maine Interstate
Pay attention on the roads, you never know who may be watching!
Maine driving can be a very stressful and anxiety-filled experience, if you see stupidity on the roads, there is a place you can go to see all sorts of bad driving choices from people all over the state of Maine.
Maine's Idiot Spotters is a group of 20,000 members on Facebook that is endlessly entertaining.
On a daily basis, people upload pictures of awful parking jobs that they spot while about and about. And let me tell you, there is plenty to look at.
And thanks to the invention of the dashboard camera in vehicles, many a bad decision by motorists has been captured for everyone in the group to see. Whether it be speeding, blowing through red lights, or stop signs, passing cars in a single lane, or making the choice to pull an ill-advised U-Turn, this page has it all.
This time around, an oversized load in Yarmouth, ended up casing quite a commotion. The driver tried backing up into a private drive and almost hit two lamp posts. Then they drove on the sidewalk and lawn and ripped that up, knocking over a train crossing sign in the process.
Naturally, people had something to say about it on the Facebook page:

You will too if you do not get off your phone!!

What is the point of the spotter guy if NOT to signal the driver to stop in order to prevent THIS VERY THING FROM HAPPENING???
Justin Roy
I thought over sized loads need to have a route planned out for scenarios like this? I mean I see the blue lights but damn that's some unpreparedness

Wrong side of the road too

Unprepared - journey- just Go with It in their case ?they said. they're widening the road all together with their experiences. Maine Dot is just going to love that company especially whenever it comes to writing out a bill for all that was wasted.

There was one time I was driving in Orono last year and an over side load was turning into a driveway, tipped over, and dropped what looked like a massive red barn all over the road. Not your average shed that’s for sure
Arthur Merrill
Glad the cop didn’t get hit by the sign.
