Say Goodbye To A Popular Bangor Musician This Friday
One of the best in the Queen City is leaving us!
Over the years I have become close friends with many local musicians, and I have a special place in my heart for live and local music here in the Bangor area, and all over the state. Unfortunately, one of the best is moving on to greener pastures, but myself, and all of you, can send him off in style with a great night of tunes!
The last several years, Riff Johnson has been a great friend of The Z Morning Show. He has been in the studio many times with his guitar to play for us and Z listeners, especially around the holidays, when he would promote his "12 Days of Riffmas" event, where he would head out to local establishments to perform and raise money to support the Bangor Area Recovery Network.
During the part of this pandemic where we were all trapped indoors, he did several Facebook Live events to give everyone a little taste of music, when we all needed something to lift our spirits.
Tomorrow night at 8pm, at Season’s Downunder Club, on Maine Street in Bangor, there will be a farewell party, with a performance from the excellent local band, Uncrowned Kings, and you can be sure that Riff will get up and play some songs, as well as other local musicians.
There is no cover charge for this 21+ event, but if you would like to make a donation, that would certainly be welcome. So come say goodbye to one of our, and Bangor’s favorites, and wish him well as he heads off to Nashville, and parts unknown, to live out his dream to play music. We here at Z-107.3 will miss you buddy. All the best!
