Here's a trip worth taking this summer… to a fairy-tale tea room inspired by the classic Lewis Carrol tale of "Alice in Wonderland." Alice or the Mad Hatter may even drop by the Mad Hatter tearoom in Olde Mystic Village in Mystic, Connecticut. It has recently reopened, after shutting its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The tea room is open at 50% capacity to allow for social distancing, and reservations are required, according to Alice in the Village's website. Parties of up to 6 people can be accommodated. Make a reservation here.

The website describes the place as "a whimsical wonderland experience, complete with Alice falling down the Rabbit hole," as you can see in the picture above. The tea room has a traditional Afternoon Tea and High Tea. Along with an extensive selection of over 100 different teas and multi-colored butterfly teas, served hot or cold, there are freshly made crust-less sandwiches, salads, quiches, and delicious scones served on three tier stands. Check out the menu.
