Police Investigate Accidental Shooting of Child In Penobscot County
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported accidental shooting of a 20-month-old girl in Winn.
The shooting happened on Monday (June 26) evening, according to a news release from Penobscot County Sheriff Troy Morton.
A family member initially took the child to the Lincoln hospital. The child was later taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where she received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Those involved with the investigation have been identified and are cooperating with investigators, police said.
Winn is located just north of Lincoln.
