News Center MAINE’s Keith Carson Just Trolled Mainers Once Again
There may not be a meteorologist in Maine who deals with more trolls than News Center MAINE's Keith Carson.
(Well, outside of the incident former Maine meteorologist Matt Hoenig dealt with last week at the grocery store, but that seems more like a random isolated incident.)
But I digress...
Keith Carson Trolling
Because he may be one of the more outspoken meteorologists in Maine, especially when it comes to the whole climate change debate, Keith seems to deal with countless trolls.
In a blog he wrote on the National Resources Council of Maine website back in March 2019, Keith mentioned that weather has been his passion since the Blizzard of 1993 hit back when he was just a kid living in Massachusetts. But,
Over the past 5 years, my interest in and knowledge of climate change science has greatly increased. I care deeply about the earth, but if I’m being honest, my full speed charge into the Climate Change spotlight on air, on social media, and on the speaking circuit has more to do with defending science than defending the earth.
Naturally, because everyone has an opinion they think needs to be heard, Keith's stance brings on trolls, who constantly fire away at him on social media.
But, Keith's always had fun being a troll himself, whether he's taking on the commenters that troll him, or if he's going after his co-worker, Todd Gutner -- literally comparing Todd to one of the trolls at the Maine Botanical Gardens.
And who can forget his hilarious political attack ad against Todd from back in 2020 (and Todd's ad against Keith, too.)
But his latest troll job was a more accidental one on his Twitter page yesterday. Because after he posted an 8-14 day temperature outlook showing that Maine would be 100% above the normal temperatures in Maine for mid-to-late January, he got some backlash in the comments section.
In response to commenter Nick Sabine's feedback that the post was "unnecessary," Keith owned up to his accidental mistake.
It was a bit of a troll in retrospect.
But seriously, give this man his flowers for making something like the weather insanely entertaining.
