The Newport Police Department posted a Facebook Post announcing the start of a community-based spring cleaning program, consisting of volunteers helping those in need.

Volunteers will be providing free labor to elderly residents or physically incapable residents by offering to help with the duties of spring cleaning, such as raking the lawn, taking items to the dump, fixing repairs that occurred during the winter or helping with smaller construction projects.

If this sounds like something you could use, check out the Facebook post below to see how you can be a part of the project!

Here is the post the Newport Police Department put forth onto their Facebook page:

The post reads:

We are kicking-off a new community-based program this spring and offering free labor. If you are elderly or in-need of help with yard clean-up, items taken to the dump, small home repairs, painting or minor construction projects will be offered. If you want to be added to the list, Contact Chief Macdaid at 207-368-3263.
